IRA Disarms

The Washington Post reports that the Irish Republican Army (IRA), Sinn Fein's paramilitary wing, has disarmed thus fulfilling a vow it made last July. The IRA's decision is considered by The Post as a landmark step toward ending more than three decades of political and religious violence in Northern Ireland.
