Gonzales Vs. Google
Alberto Gonzales, the US Attorney General, asked a judge this week to order Google, the search engine company, to comply with a subpoena seeking information about its databases and users. The government wants a list of all requests entered into Google's search engine during an unspecified single week _ a breakdown that could conceivably span tens of millions of queries. In addition, it seeks 1 million randomly selected Web addresses from various Google databases. Google has rebuffed the Bush Administration to snoop on internet users where as AOL, Microsoft MSN and other search engines have already complied with the Administration's request.
