Paying With Your Index Finger
According to The St. Petersburg Times, at the Coast to Coast Family Convenience store in Tampa,FL., customers can pay with cash, a credit card, or their index finger, thanks to what the business says is the State's first biometric payment system. Customers give the store a fingerprint and their bank account information; when they purchase something, they stick their finger in the scanner and the amount is automatically debited from their account. " People either love it or think it's a sign of the coming apocalypse," said owner Amer Hawatmeh. " But to me, it's the wave of the future."

C'est impressionnant ce système.
Mais j'imagine trois inconvénients :
- le jeune qui va dans le magasin avec sa grand-père à moitié sénile. Il achète tout ce qu'il veut et à la caisse il dit : "Mamie, donne ton doigt au vendeur...". Et Mamie donne son doigt et son compte est vidé en moins de temps qu'il faut pour le dire.
- autre cas ennuyeux, on se fait braquer par un type qui nous conduit au magasin et nous force à payer ses achats. En plus normalement quand on est braqué on doit avoir les mains en l'air, mais il faut baisser la main pour tendre son doigt au vendeur !
- un gars me coupe l'index et le présente au vendeur pour payer... et mon compte est vidé... et au bout de dix agressions je n'ai plus de doigts... et je ne peux plus payer mes achats dans ce magasin !
Bon à part ces cas particuliers, c'est assez intéressant comme idée... mais il faut bien faire attention où on pose son doigt alors sinon on peut faire des achats sans même s'en rendre compte !
