The 21st edition of the Washington, DC International Film Festival (April 19-29, 2007) will feature some of the best, new and exciting films in international cinema today. Films will encompass a global range of cultures, music, and politics from over 30 countries.

International cinema will have to deliver. Since the Hollywood film boom of the first half of this decade was sealed in May 2005 with Revenge of the Sith, with a few rare exceptions, nothing of value or worth wtching has been appearing in the movie theatres. What we thought was the usual annual summer lull back in 2005 has turned into a film drought that continues to this day: 2 years with an abundance of mediocrity.
