Local Believers Launch Tunisia’s First Christian TV Series

Via HCJB Global- Arab Vision Christian television station has started its 10th anniversary year with the launch of the first-ever Tunisian Christian TV series. After unexpected delays and setbacks, the series, made by Tunisians still living within their country, was recorded in partnership with Focus Media in Malta.

Is "ridda" possible in Tunisian law? I doubt it.

@Tarek: I think apostasy and religious conversion are not allowed in Tunisia, I don't really know if there're any laws that deal with this issue. Yet I read an article a year ago I think and it talks about some tunisian young men who were concverted to Christianity ( I had to check that article). What I know that proselytism is not allowed in Tunisia but you know our history when it comes to religious liberty, the three monotheistic religions co-existed peacefully in Tunisia. Thank you anyway for bringing up such an interesting issue which needs more research I guess.

@Tarek: this is the article I told you about though it didn't talk about Tunisia's law with regard to apostasy.

thanks Hannibal!

I personally see this as nothing more than an identity crisis (yet another one shall I say!). The same is happening with Algerian Kabiles who use it as a form of contestation of societal segregation.

Anyway, I think it's one of those banned-but-tolerated-subject-to-discretion kind of issues. Which is very typical of Tunisia isn't it? :)

Well, why not ?
I don't see any problem with the fact tunisians create a christian series...
Liberty of faith is stated in the country's constitution... So...

@Xander: who said the opposite? ;P
